Tao Knowledge Companion web application lets you use the same vast Chinese medical knowledgebase as the desktop product wherever you go. All you need is a smarthphone (or tablet/laptop) and you’re set.

We took our fantastic Chinese medicine database which was used in acupuncture software products like Tao Knowledge, ACE - Acupuncture Expert and Taoclinic Pro, and used it to create the online version product. Now you can access the knowledgebase of this acupuncture software from anywhere.
 
Connecting to your online account, you can browse the information and cross-references of every symptom, syndrome, formula, acupoint, disease, herb and much more.
 

 
General

Tao Knowledge Companion is a web application that runs smoothly on many platforms, optimized for smartphones and tablets. You can connect and run the application using your iPhone, iPad or Android based smartphone and tablet (see below for all available systems).

 

This way the vast TCM knowledgebase that is used in the desktop versions of acupuncture software such as Tao Knowledge is always with you, always accessible even when out of the clinic. Browsing is extremely easy, with all the information about each item and its cross references. Very simple, very efficient.

The knowledgebase includes thousands of related Indications to help diagnose and treat using acupoints, herbal formulas, or points’ combinations. There are over 80 Chinese syndromes of the internal organs, containing description of the etiology, treatment principle, acupuncture treatment and explanation, treatment with herbal formulas, and treatment by combining acupoints and balancing with Chinese nutritional advice. Approximately 250 western diseases included, containing information of each disease and showing its relevance to Chinese syndromes. In addition, Chinese treatments, such as acupuncture and herbology, are adapted to the patient’s disease.

 

All points of the main meridians, as well as extraordinary points (over 450 points) are included. These points include: location, comments as to how to locate, needling technique. Every point lists its functions and the symptoms that it treats. A list of ear points including their location and a comparison of four different sources. Point functions are also detailed. Over 400 combinations of acupoints. The combinations appear with an explanatory text for each point combination.

 

450 single herbs listing both Chinese and pharmaceutical names, and includes herb category, properties – temperature, organs. It details herbal properties and functions, contraindications, and recommended daily dosages. PCM also includes information of over 300 classic herbal formulas, with each formula containing both the Chinese and English names, a list of herbs in the formula, dosages of each herb, formula categories, functions, symptoms, and contraindications.
